Surely, once in Kaliningrad, one cannot avoid visiting Kant Island and the Cathedral. It is always recommended to include an organ mini-concert in your trip plan. The Museum of the World Ocean is worth visiting not only for those interested in the history of ocean development, but also everyone, who would like to learn more about history of Kaliningrad. The Kaliningrad zoo invites you to see its fauna collection and the arboretum all year round.
The Amber Museum - this museum of one mineral is also very interesting. The History and Art Museum will reveal secrets of the history of modern Kaliningrad. It is always recommended to include the Koenigsberg-45 diorama, as well as the Bunker museum and Fort No. 5 museum in your trip program. All these museums have audio guides in English/ German, and museum employees can provide tours. We also recommend to visit the city gates and German villa districts.
Homlins, i.e. magical sculptures that are placed near interesting attractions of the city, will help you plan your route around attractions in Kaliningrad. There are 7 Homlins in the family, and it is an interesting quest to find them all.
It will be interesting for international tourists to attend historical landmarks: churches and castles of the Kaliningrad Region: the ruins look impressive. In the region, these are being taken care of by the Guardians of the Ruins movement that arranges cleaning of one of the historical objects each week-end.
Trips (in Russian) are available at the following castles: Waldau, Schaaken, Tapiau, Ragnit, Brandenburg, Preussisch-Eylau, Insterburg, Labiau, and Balga. The castles of Neuhausen and Georgenburg are getting ready to open their doors for the tourists.
