Palace of Justice
The Land and Administrative Court of Königsberg is located in a large building specially built for this purpose in 1913–1917 by the architect Zaal. The building was built in the style of Neo-Baroque, and was crowded with the city in 1,568,000 marks. The main facade is decorated with a portal and stone decorations. The building adjoining on the right was added later, in 1931, and its facade overlooking Victory Square no longer has baroque decorations, but is made in the style of functionalism. The building was well preserved during the assault of Königsberg, although it was located in the epicenter of street fighting. During the restoration work in the 50’s, many architectural elements were preserved. Now here is the main building of the Kaliningrad State Technical University.
